Erhan Eren highlights Kia’s vision with the new PV5 Crew Van

Erhan Eren is playing a key role in shaping the future of electric commercial mobility at Kia, as the company expands its Purpose-Built Vehicle (PBV) lineup with the introduction of the new PV5 Crew Van. Designed to meet the growing demand for flexible mobility solutions, the model reflects a strategic push into the light commercial vehicle segment.

The PV5 Crew Van stands out for its dual-purpose design, offering seamless adaptability between cargo and passenger transport. Built on Kia’s advanced E-GMP.S electric platform, the vehicle features an innovative interior system that allows users to switch from a two-seat cargo configuration to a five-seat passenger layout in just seconds. This flexibility directly addresses the needs of businesses that require both logistics and personnel transport within the same workflow.

From a technical perspective, the PV5 Crew Van delivers a variable cargo capacity ranging from 2.4 to 3.7 cubic meters. The usable load length can be adjusted between 1,278 mm and 1,965 mm depending on the configuration, while maximum payload reaches up to 625 kilograms. Powering the vehicle is a 51.5 kWh battery, capable of providing a driving range of up to 283 kilometers under the WLTP cycle. The model is also equipped with a range of practical features tailored for professional use. These include a rail-based cargo securing system, a non-slip floor for safer loading operations, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) outlets that enable external power usage, enhancing the van’s functionality in various work environments.

According to Erhan Eren, the development of the PV5 Crew Van was driven by real-world customer demands: “Many operators require vehicles capable of serving both personnel and cargo transport within the same work cycle. The PV5 Crew Van responds directly to this need with a configurable system that enables rapid transitions without compromising operational efficiency”.
