A new smartphone is arriving on the market: Samsung Galaxy S21, the mini smartphone of the new Galaxy line.
The new Samsung is smaller and more compact than the smartphones we are now used to, which is why it will be particularly appreciated by those who are nostalgic for the first smartphones on the market.
On the other hand, the new Samsung decides to be at the forefront and, like Apple, it does not offer the charger in its package, as a result of an eco-friendly choice. In the box there is only a USB Type-C cable and a paper clip to extract the sim.
As regards the design, the device is different – even to the touch – compared to its predecessors. The building materials are excellent, the weight is smaller than the previous ones (169 grams) and, as we said, the size is smaller too (151.7 x 71.2 x 7.9 mm). There are four colours available: purple, pink, white and black.
Galaxy S21 features a Full HD + AMOLED display, a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 421 ppi density and 1,300 nits of peak brightness. The display is 6.2 inches, but there is also Galaxy S21 Plus, which is equipped with a larger screen. Samsung S21 Ultra has the largest screen within the range, but it’s also more expensive. The outer glass is a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which should have double scratch resistance compared to the previous model.
The processor is an Exynos 2100 SoC, with a UFS 3. 1 fast memory and a RAM of 8 GB. These features give the smartphone fluidity and speed in everyday use, at work and in gaming, and it easily supports many multi-tasking activities.
With regard to memory, you can choose between a version of 128 GB, one of 256 GB and another of 512 GB.
The operating system is Android 11 with One UI 3.1.
Now let’s introduce one of the most regarded features by potential buyers: the camera, which is one of the strengths of this device. It is equipped with 3 rear sensors (a main one with a 12 MP wide-angle lens, a 12 MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 64 MP telephoto lens) that allow you to obtain excellent photos during the day and good quality photos at night. The 3x and 10x hybrid optical zoom presents a feature called “zoom lock” that allows you to stabilize photos even if your hands are shaking. The 10MP selfie camera on the front of the smartphone is great for both selfies and video calls, which are increasingly common and popular.
Videos can be recorded in 8K at 24 frames per second for maximum quality, and it’s even possible to extract a 33MP shot from a still image. If the highest quality is not required, 4K shooting at 30 and 60 frames per second is also possible.
Moving to the autonomy of the battery, it is 4,000 mAh and it is equipped with fast charging of 25W, as well as the Wireless 2.0 charging at 15W and the 4.5W reverse wireless charge, which allows you to recharge your headphones or other devices with wireless charging.
Additional features of the Samsung Galaxy S21 are: Bluetooth v5.0, Type-C 3.2, 5G, IP68 certification and fingerprint sensor under the display.
